Michael is a writer and director based in Kansas City, Missouri. He met RJ while casting for a gigantic mascot of a penne noodle for a multi-national pizza brand—you know, that old chestnut.
Before working as a director, Michael spent time working in the advertising agency world. Decidedly not news or journalism, but it shares the same beating heart as that profession—trauma bonding with coworkers over impossible hours, insurmountable stress, and lethal deadlines. He has plenty of expertise to offer this project.
Although we aren't shooting just yet, Michael is on board to help translate the script into a pitchable format. Production is under his guidance, and he is conducting the preparatory work to direct the pilot or any proof-of-concept for Davenport.
For those keeping score, RJ did not score the role of an oversized penne noodle, but he did land a role in the commercial.
